"Black 'n 'da Blues Third Tour: Back By Popular Demand

Back by popular demand, this "must see" musical production of “Black ‘n 'da Blues: Stories and Songs from the Arkansas Delta” is scheduled to launch its third tour here in the Delta. There will be six performances of the show winding its way through Phillips County, Independence County, Ark., up to Jonesboro, in Craighead County, and then on to Pulaski County, Ark.  The shows will begin September 26, concluding on Tuesday, October 1.  Admission is free. Local dates include performances at the MM Tate Auditorium in Marvell, Ark, September 28, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and later that evening at Waves of Prayer (formerly Elaine Elementary) in Elaine, Ark., from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This time, three new venues have been added to the production's travel circuit. They are Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (Helena), September 26, 2019 (12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.); Arkansas State University (Jonesboro), September 27 (7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.); Lyons College (Batesville, AR), September 30, 2019 (4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.), and then at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, October 1 (7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).

The roster of entertainers include contemporary blues singer and high-stepper James “Gone for Good” Morgan, who has performed with R&B greats such as B.B. King, the Temptations and Bobby Blue Bland, gospel singer Vera White from Elaine, Ark., and Marcus “Mookie” Cartwright, also a well-respected blues singer/guitarist from the Arkansas Delta, 

Written by Carlos Sirah, an internationally produced writer and performer, also a member of the Remember2019 Collective, thisevent is presented by the Delta Cultural Center and the Remember2019 Collective in partnership with the Elaine Legacy Center in Elaine, Ark., and the Boys, Girls & Adults Community and Development Center in Marvell, Ark.
